Top 10 Internet Hoax of 2016 Everyone Fell For! Part 2

2016 has been a great year so far with lots of ups & downs and lots of things happening around the World. This year we witnessed so many viral posts, News, tweets that we almost believed, but it turned out to be Fake. Here is Part 2 of Top 10 Internet HOAX. Enjoy

1. Win a Toyota 4Runner/Highlander 2016 Facebook post.

This post appeared on August 2016 claiming to give away TOYOTA  4Runner/Highlander for liking and sharing their post. It is luring Face book users into following the page with a fake prize as bait. There really are no prizes on offer. It's a Scam, a HOAX.

2. Celebrity Death Post.

Like Every year this year also we came across a lot of Celebrity Death news. Many were shocked to hear the news of death of their favorite celebrity. But Google helped us confirming the news to be fake. This year’s list includes: Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Nicholas Cage and more.

 3. Facebook to Charge Users.

A message started spreading across Facebook that claims “tomorrow morning” users will be invited to enter their payment information since Facebook have decided to charge a fee appeared on June 2016. Many people believed it and started to copy paste and share on their wall. However this also a Hoax.

 4. Typing ATM pin in reverse will call the police.

Well, this type of post has been doing rounds for a long time all over the social media. The post read like this:
"WHEN A THIEF FORCES U 2 TAKE MONEY FROM D ATM, DO NOT ARGUE OR RESIST, U MIGHT NOT KNOW WHAT HE OR SHE MIGHT DO 2 U.
WHAT U SHOULD DO IS 2 PUNCH UR PIN IN D REVERSE,
Ex. IF UR PIN IS 1254, SHOULD PUNCH 4521.
D MOMENT U PUNCH IN D REVERSE, D MONEY WILL COME OUT BUT WILL BE STUCK INTO D MACHINE HALF WAY OUT AND IT WILL ALERT POLICE WITHOUT D NOTICE OF D THIEF.
EVERY ATM HAS IT, ITS SPECIALLY MADE 2 SIGNIFY DANGER & HELP."
This hoax is demonstrably untrue since anyone can (and often do) set their PIN number to a palindrome, which is a number that reads the same forward as it does in reverse, such as 1551. For such a reverse-PIN system to be implemented, palindrome PIN numbers would first have to be banned, which of course they’re not.

 5. Durex releasing Eggplant Flavored Condom.

This recent Hoax made everyone wonder regarding the flavor selection by the company. However it’s a hoax. Yes Durex did tweet the announcement, but in reality it is part of a campaign stunt by Durex to introduce a condom emoji on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and on smartphones, to help younger people discuss safe sex.

Top 10 Internet Hoax of 2016 Everyone Fell For! Part 1

2016 has been a great year so far with lots of ups & downs and lots of things happening around the World. This year we witnessed so many viral posts, News, tweets that we almost believed, but it turned out to be Fake. Here is Part 1 of Top 10 Internet HOAX. Enjoy

1. Killer insect causes lots of tiny holes

This post went viral in January 2016. Many people believed it and panicked. But the truth is this is just a photoshopped image of Honey Comb on Hands and an Insect. In fact the entire rumor seems to be another prank aimed at people who suffer from the scientifically unofficial “pathological fear of holes” known as trypophobia.

2. Kiwi Banana Fruit Hybrid.

On March 2016 a video surfaced on social media claiming you can create Kiwi Banana Fruit Hybrid by placing end of the fruits together. However the original video was uploaded on YouTube on 1st April 2014 as an April Fools Prank. The Social media post cleverly edited out the part of original video where the host wishes his viewers Happy April Fool’s day.

Here is the Video

3. Drinking Pepsi with POLO/MENTOS causes instant DEATH!

May 2016, another viral post surfaced on Facebook claiming that drinking PEPSI after eating POLO/MENTOS leads to instant DEATH as the mixture creates CYANIDE poison. Whereas, the fact is it can produce significant reaction but not Cyanide poison. Almost everyone fell for this HOAX.

4. "Posts Can Become Public Tomorrow" Facebook Hoax

On June 2016 this post became viral and everyone started to copy paste this post on their wall to "Prevent Facebook from making public their personal info, photos and videos". However this turned out to be fake as the Law code mentioned in the post has nothing to do with privacy and social networking. It's Commercial Law BTW.

5. Loch Ness Monster Skeleton Found.

On 29 June 2016, the Facebook page Help2Rehome published two photographs purportedly showing the skeletal remains of the Loch Ness Monster. These images sparked a debate about both the existence of the Loch Ness Monster whether the remains of one such mythical creature had washed up on the shores of Scotland. But it turned out to be Hoax. The picture was taken on the sets of a TV documentary on Loch Ness Monster.

Remember standing up in the middle of TITANIC movie to change the VHS for second part. Well I sure do. The Video Home System (VHS) is a standard for consumer-level analog video recording on tape cassettes. Developed by Victor Company of Japan (JVC) in the early 1970s, it was released in Japan in late 1976 and in the USA in early 1977. It was at it's peak popularity during the 80s and 90s.

5. Kodachrome (Color Negative Film).

Kodachrome is a brand name for a non-substantive, color reversal film introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1935. We all used in in the 90s and early 2000s. The widespread transition to digital photography, Kodachrome lost its market share, its manufacturing was discontinued in 2009 and its processing ended in December 2010.

6. Compact Cassette.

Remember rotating cassette with pen or pencil to listen your favorite track? The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC), also commonly called cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is a magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback released by Philips in 1962. Between the early 1970s and the early 2000s, the cassette was one of the two most common formats for prerecorded music,

7. Mouse Heel.

A scroll wheel (or mouse wheel) is a hard plastic or rubbery disc (the "wheel") on a computer mouse that is perpendicular to the mouse surface. It is normally located between the left and right mouse buttons.

8.FM Radio.

Radio was our sorce of entertainment back in the days. There were great shows broadcasting. Most trending brand that time was PHILIPS. Philips went on the air with shortwave radio station PCJJ (later PCJ) which was joined in 1929 by sister station PHOHI (Philips Omroep Holland-Indië) during 1920s. You can still purchase these sets online.

 9. Floppy Disc.

Before CDs and DVDs we had this Floppy disc that had a mere 1.44MB data enough for simple text documents.
